Shopify has no marketplace commission — but between card fees and your monthly plan, a “profitable” product can quietly lose money. Enter one order and see what you really keep. No sign-up, nothing is uploaded.

No sales commission. Unlike Etsy or Amazon, Shopify does not take a percentage of your sale as a marketplace fee. What you pay instead is card processing, your plan, and your apps.
Card processing (Shopify Payments, online). Basic 2.8% + 30¢, Grow 2.6% + 30¢, Advanced 2.4% + 30¢ per order, in CAD. Amex and international cards cost more: 3.5% / 3.4% / 3.3% + 30¢ on the same plans.
Plan prices (CAD). Basic $49/month billed monthly or $37/month billed yearly; Grow $132 or $99; Advanced $517 or $389. This calculator spreads the monthly-billing price over your orders per month so you can see what the plan really adds to each order — at low order volumes, that number surprises people.
Third-party providers. If you take payments through another provider instead of Shopify Payments, Shopify adds 2% (Basic), 1% (Grow) or 0.6% (Advanced) on top — and you still pay that provider's own fees, which are not included here.
